Coaching gets you moving from where you are now towards where you want to be, by learning to trust the voice inside telling you that you can have, do and be so much more!
A lot of people are drawn to Coaching because they're feeling stuck, lost, directionless or indecisive. Ironically, these are the very things that will get in the way of deciding to actually do it!
If you're sick of being in limbo and want to move forward, Coaching is for you.
Coaching sessions are confidential and completely non-judgemental so that you can be really honest about what's not working for you. Lots of Coaching services now take place over the phone or video call, not only because of the flexibility or convenience of being able to talk from the comfort of your own home, but because of the speed and ease it takes to get started (less excuses).
Because this process is so personal to you (you'll be exploring your deepest, darkest thoughts, after all) it's so important that you 'vibe' with the person you choose to work with. When working with a coach myself, I know I want to feel heard, valued, not judged and actively listened to. That they really care about my progress. And that they offer challenge and thought-provoking questions that help to develop a deeper understanding of self. A good coach will also call you out when you need to hear it (but don't necessarily want to) and hold you to account too. The support that a Coach offers will differ for different people: you might prefer (need) a kick up the bum when you need to re-focus or stop procrastinating, for example, whereas for some people (or sometimes?) holding your hand is a better way to see you through.
There is no quick-fix or one-size-fits-all in coaching. It depends on you and what you're looking to achieve! One thing is for sure:
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!
The magic: Coaching is about action. The coach is a facilitator: first encouraging you to explore what isn't working for you and identify the changes you'd like to make, acknowledge how you are presently showing up in life, and becoming more aware of the feelings, thoughts and beliefs (read: scripts and stories) that you are (often blindly) experiencing and living by, day-to-day.
On top of this, your coach is also going to see you through the process of change. By helping you to create positive, future-focussed and inspiring goals, breaking them down into manageable, baby steps, you'll make progress as quickly as you want to make it. As I said, Coaching holds you to account and empowers you to transition from where you are to where you want to be. (And who you want to be!)
A commitment to Coaching is a commitment to
expanding the boundaries of your comfort zone and
stepping into a life you fully enjoy living.
Every day we all make choices about what we do or don’t do. Each of these choices (no matter how small) will affect what happens next for us. Whether or not we feel fulfilled with these outcomes is something only we know, deep down in our core. Coaching allows you the time and space to really get to grips with that core person, underneath it all. What’s really important to you? What drives you? What's missing? What do you really want and need?
Figuring this stuff out ultimately enables you to make wiser, balanced (no longer blind) choices about how you are in the now, which in turn will result in you taking action to create a more peaceful, effective and fulfilling life for your future self (a side effect being, people you love will get a better version of you, too.)
Put simply, Coaching is not just about making you feel better. It is a process that involves honest, meaningful conversations that help you to understand yourself, empowering you to take steps towards your true desires.
Yes, Coaching will help you feel better but it will also help you actually be better, too.
